This Thursday we welcome Kittyhawk into the studio for their first Live Session. Tune into the bNets at 330pm and check these guys out!
Kittyhawk is a hard working three piece band formed in Auckland in 2006. They play a unique style of high-energy dance rock, disco-punk and the self described Karate-rock (a sonic punch in the face and kick in the ball-sack)
Having played support for the Mint Chicks during their farewell tour, the group furthered their appeal by appearing at the 2008 Camp A Low Hum festival. Kittyhawk’s music has received airplay from a number of radio stations in New Zealand, including b.net stations (that’s student radio to you foreign types) up and down the country, while their music videos playlisted on local television stations and generating thousands of views online.
As always working their asses off, with an array of talented drummers to choose from (from ex-Malenky Robot through to current The Managers and everything in between), the Artrocker website summed the band up best – “It won’t be long before they follow in the footsteps of Die! Die! Die!, The Checks and The Mint Chicks and head over to the UK for a spot at the Buffalo Bar”
