King Kapisi in the house!

Friday 24th of April is the battle of two musical titans when King Kapisi goes head to head against The Mint Chicks at the Red Bull Soundclash.

One day before on Thursday the 23rd April, the Big Bwoy of NZ Hip Hop touches down in the studio  to mash up some brains with his lyrical masterpieces. Spitting verses is the name of his game and this guy knows his game.

Music runs through his synapses, linking the cultural threads like Tetris pieces and spitting out knowledge with every verse, every utterance representing hip hop truth.

He hit us in 1998 with the superb “Sub-Cranium Feeling” and in 1999 with “Reverse Resistance”, which picked up the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll award.

Over the years he has brought to audiences a mixture of  musical genres that he loves to rhyme or sing over as the King is multi-skilled and talented.

2009 brings all listening ears the BPM of your hip hop nod to summer reggae skanking  bound to become anthems.

Commenting on the Red Bull Soundclash against The Mint Chicks the King says, ‘even though this is a battle I have the utmost respect for the boys, I’m really looking forward to the challenge.  Bring it on and lets raise the level of kiwi music.’
