Red Bull Studio welcomes Tahuna Breaks for the Live Session on Thursday April 30.
Dubbed as "one of the most promising acts to breakthrough the NZ music scene in recent years", Tahuna Breaks' unique combination of funk fuelled grooves, reggae and live energy has seen them become a favourite amongst party goers throughout New Zealand. Their growing popularity has seen them frequently have the honour of sharing the stage with Aotearoa’s top live acts.
Having formed in January of 2005, Tahuna Breaks have successfully built a reputation of getting the party started and with countless tours under their belt - including sell out shows around NZ and international commitments in Australia, the band is rapidly moving from strength to strength.
March 2009 saw the release of their first single ‘Empower Me’ from the upcoming second album ‘Black Brown and White’. The track is now available for download via Amplifier.co.nz and the video can be watched on YouTube.
The much anticipated ‘Black Brown and White’ album is due for release in August and was recorded with the infamous Dr Lee Prebble at The Surgery Studio in Wellington. 2009 is looking to be a busy year for the band, encompassing major festival appearances, returning to Australian shores in May and an album release tour later in the year.
Be sure to tune into the bNets on Thursday April 30 at 330pm and get down to the sound of Tahuna Breaks!
